iOS Manual Migration

 

Complete the actions under "Step 1" to remove the management profile (Workspace ONE). Next, complete the actions under "Step 2" to manually enroll your device in Jamf. 

Note: Once you complete "Step 1," you will need to complete "Step 2" to access your  Stanford email and calendar from the device.

Before you begin

  • If you need help, please call the UIT Service Desk at 650-725-4357 (5-HELP) or submit a Help request.
  • Check that your device is running a supported operating system by visiting uit.stanford.edu/guide/sunset-schedule.
  • It’s recommended that your device be connected to a Wi-Fi network and have at least 15% battery life.
  • Confirm your device is enrolled in Workspace ONE (formerly Airwatch). If you aren't sure, visit mydevices.stanford.edu or watch this video tutorial.

Step 1: Remove the management profile

You must complete these steps using the iOS device you want to migrate. 

  1.  From the Home screen go to Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management or Device Management
  2. Select the Device Manager profile under MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT
    IMPORTANT: Do not remove any other profiles.
  3.  Select Remove Management
  4. Enter your device passcode
     

Step 2: Install new management profile (Jamf)

  1. From the Home screen go to Safari
  2. Navigate to jamfenroll.stanford.edu
  3. Enter your SUNet ID and password and click Login.
  4. Select Continue, then Allow, then Close
  5. Open the Settings app
  6. Tap Profile Downloaded
  7. Tap Install
  8. Enter your device passcode
  9. Tap Install twice, then Trust
