Auto attendant and listen-only mailboxes

For auto attendant listen-only mailboxes, record your message and send it as a voicemail to HelpSU at 650-725-4357 so that a staff member can upload it for you. You can update your own recorded message for standalone listen-only mailboxes.

How to record and update your message

To record and send your message:

  1. Connect to your mailbox. (Remind me how)
    The system responds with the status of any messages in your mailbox and prompts you with the "Main Menu" selections.
  2. Press 2, Record new message.
  3. Record your message. Your options are:
    • 1 Review recording
    • 2 Append or resume recording
    • # Accept recording
    • * Erase and re-record
  4. When you are satisfied with your message, press # to accept it.
  5. Submit a HelpSU request to have your message uploaded. Be sure to include the subscriber's telephone number.

The easiest way to manage your messages on a "hotline" is to record the message as you would your personal greeting:

  1. Connect to the hotline mailbox.  
    The system responds with the status of any messages in the mailbox and prompts you with the "Main Menu" selections.
  2. Press 4, Personal Options.
  3. Press 1, Personal Greeting.
  4. Press 2 to record your personal greeting.
  5. Record your greeting at the tone.
  6. Press # after recording your personal greeting. The system plays back your recording.
  7. Press 1 to replay the recording.
  8. To save the recording, press #. To cancel and return to Step 4, press *.
