An Introduction to Creating Surveys with Qualtrics

Qualtrics is an easy-to-use survey tool available to all Stanford users. It allows users to build, distribute, and analyze simple or complex surveys. In this class learn how to get started with creating, distributing, and analyzing Qualtrics surveys.
 
Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to create and format a basic survey from scratch
  • Understand how to distribute your survey via email

  • Identify the steps for Qualtrics account access at Stanford
  • Design new survey projects using the Survey Module
  • Sharing surveys
  • Integrate multiple question types to capture freeform and option specific responses
  • Edit question text
  • Change question types
  • Use the editing pane
  • Enforce data validation to constrain responses based on defined rules
  • Apply themes and manual formatting to survey text and objects
  • Use the Look & Feel Editor
  • Set survey options to control navigation, progression information, and security
  • Distribute surveys electronically via e-mail
  • View and manage individual survey responses and data visualization reports
  • Download response extracts for external analysis
