June 30, 2022: Deadline to retire Stanford Sites D7; site owners should archive or move to latest version of Stanford Sites

November 2022: End of D7 community support

November 2024: End of D7 commercial support

Stanford Sites, the university’s centrally managed and cloud-based Drupal platform, requires separate environments for Drupal 7 and Drupal 9+. Maintaining both versions in parallel incurs additional costs; due to funding constraints, the Drupal 7 environment will no longer be available after June 30, 2022.

For websites hosted on Acquia Cloud, extended support for D7 websites ends November 2025. The extended support includes security updates only for Drupal core; custom module support is not available. 

Virtual Name Redirect

Jan. 15, 2021: Service and all existing virtual host redirects moved to Vanity URL service

Virtual host redirects can now be managed using the Vanity URL tool.
