Login and Two-Step Authentication Screens Will Change in March

Friday, December 8, 2017

As part of the University IT (UIT) move to the cloud, the buttons, options, and icons on the login screen and the Duo two-step authentication screen will change slightly for all Stanford users in March. But don’t worry, we will show you exactly what the new screens will look like early in 2018 so that you know what to expect.

Why are the screens changing?

Currently, Stanford uses custom solutions to let users log in to the network using WebLogin and Duo. On March 30, 2018, UIT will transition to a standard login product and Duo's standard interface, a move that simplifies support for our login process.

What is changing?

On March 30, there will be changes to your login screen, your Duo two-step authentication screen, and screens that remind you that your password is expiring soon, or has expired. The look and function of the new screens will change slightly, but they will still be easy to use and contain information you need to log in.

UIT has user-tested these new screens to gather feedback on usability, and the response has been very positive overall. Before the screens change, UIT will provide detailed information about and images of the changes.
